My own Daniel Smith Family Railroad in Prunedale, California features 940 feet of hand-spiked track, 15 redwood trestles, 2 hand-bored tunnels through native sandstone, and 40 scratch-built structures including 4 mines, an oil derrick, and a saw mill, all designed with the look of the 1880-1900s era.
